Coders Over Borders - Home
Computer science has the power to change the world. We are living in the age of information. Humans are developing faster and creating new innovations everyday, due to the power of the modern computer. The power of code has solved numerous problems, and made the lives of billions easier. However, in the places where the most problems need to be solved, the tool to fix it isn't there. Coders Over Borders aspires to fix that problem. By giving the gift of computer literacy to those who need it, in a unique and early approach, the problems in their communities can be solved, by their own hands.
While many coding websites exist, it's important to recognize that computer science is far more than just writing code. Our mission is to focus on the science in computer science, diving into the why and how of the technology that we use every day. Instead of focusing solely on the what of coding: simply memorizing certain coding aspects and terms, we aim to explore the reasoning, logic, and problem-solving areas. Computer science is an incredibly broad field, encompassing far more than just programming skills. While courses will include block coding and practical, real-world skills necessary for a career in tech, we will also delve into the many other areas of the field. From understanding algorithms and data structures to exploring computational thinking and newer technologies such as artificial intelligence, our approach keeps a beginner mindset in mind, explaining large concepts to a small audience.
Our headquarters, located in Bridgewater, New Jersey, USA, serves as the central hub for operations and procedures while our branches in Uduvil and Pooneryn, Sri Lanka, extend our outreach globally. We hope to use our outreach program to fill this map frequently. Use the interactive map below to explore these locations and their roles in supporting our mission.
